Transylvania County is called the "Land of Water
Falls" They are also commonly referred to as Rainsylvania
County instead of Transylvania County. After all, when the average
precipitation is 63 inches a year or more, what would you call it? With
it's many waterfalls, hiking trails, natural forest lands and rivers, it's
paradise for those who enjoy the simple life and the outdoors. With so many
waterfalls this page will be in continuous updating mode. For directions to many
of these ask our campground members when you stay with them. We will update the
information here as we find it.

| Moore Cove Falls A mile north
of Looking Glass Falls on 276, pull off on the right just before the
bridge. |
| Looking Glass Falls Coming
from Brevard, head up 276 north about 1.5 miles and it's on the right. |
| John's Jump Falls Hwy 281
south a couple of miles past the parking for Gorges State Park. |
| Courthouse Falls Hwy 215
north, 10.2 miles from the intersection of Hwy 64. |
| Cathy's Creek Falls West out
of Brevard on Hwy 64 for about 3 miles and look for Cathy's Creek Rd on
the right. |
| Connestee Falls Hwy 276 south
from Brevard for about 6 miles and look for a sign for Connestee Falls

| Whitewater Falls Drive 8-9
miles south of Hwy 64 on Hwy 281 and look for a sign and parking area on
the left. |
| Rainbow Falls Hwy 64 west then
take 281 south. About 1/2 a mile down on the left you will see a new
parking area near the trailhead for the Horsepasture River. |
| Turtleback Falls Hwy 64 west
then take 281 south. About 1/2 a mile down on the left you will see a new
parking area near the trailhead for the Horsepasture River. |
| Drift Falls Hwy 64 west then
take 281 south. About 1/2 a mile down on the left you will see a new
parking area near the trailhead for the Horsepasture River. |
| White Owl Falls Hwy 281 south
a couple of miles past the parking for Gorges State Park. |
| Hooker Falls South on 276 to
the town of Cedar Mountain and take a left on Cascade Lake Road, then a
right on Staton Road a few miles up. |
