The Tusquittee Ranger District, US Forest Service... ...reminds you that there are 64,200 acres of US Forest in Clay County. The National Forests are a national recreational treasure, enabling you to experience the wonders of nature first hand. The area is open anytime for hiking, riding, picnicking, camping, and fishing, but some restrictions may apply. *Gates closed to motorized vehicles but do not restrict hikers or horseback riders. *Footpaths and picnic areas are off-limits to horses and bicycles. *Non-motorized bikes are allowed on the trails. *Recreational picking of flowers and berries is allowed. *Hunting and fishing is allowed on National Forest land and is regulated by the State of North Carolina game laws.
